Coating the outside of the bottom panel

Just thought I would post some pics of coating the outside of the bottom panel

Hand sanding of the panel with 220 grit

Laying down new polyethylene sheeting

Dry lay up of first fiberglass layer

Squeegee application of unthickened epoxy to first layer

Epoxy kinda sticks to the
System Three squeegees
In my Epoxy 101 post I mentioned that I was about to use System Three squeegees for the first time. It turns out that Epoxy does not really stick to them. It sticks a little but can be peeled off after the epoxy cures. I found peeling the epoxy off afterwards to be harder than simply wiping the uncured epoxy off when done with the squeegee.

The System Three squeegees are far better than the window washing squeegees that I have been using.

Completed first layer of fiberglass

Dry lay up of second fiberglass layer. Dry lay up of the seat base
can be seen in the far right corner of the work surface.

Squeegee application of unthickened epoxy to second
layer and to seat base.
